The Free Dictionary.com is an online dictionary and encyclopedia which gathers information from a variety of sources. In January 2006, The Free Dictionary released a home page which can be personalized by the user. The website used Ajax to provide individual users with a personal window to the web.
Farlex Inc. also maintains the companion title TheFreeLibrary.com, an online library of out-of-copyright classic books and a collection of periodicals of over two million articles dating back to 1984, and Sex-Lexis.com, a dictionary of sexual slang and other terms.
