SAP tutorials - part 03 - Tools

SAP AG is the largest European software enterprise and the fourth largest in the world, with headquarters in Walldorf, Germany. It is best known for its SAP ERP Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software.

SAP was founded in the year 1972 as Systemanalyse und Programmentwicklung ("System Analysis and Program Development") by five former IBM engineers in Mannheim, Baden-Württemberg (Dietmar Hopp, Hans-Werner Hector, Hasso Plattner, Klaus E. Tschira, and Claus Wellenreuther). At the time they left IBM, the ex-employees were quite senior engineers in IBM Germany rather than founding engineers in the sense of Hewlett-Packard's founders.

As part of the Xerox exit strategy from the computer industry, Xerox retained IBM to migrate their business systems to IBM technology. As part of IBM's compensation for the migration, IBM acquired the SDS/SAPE software, reportedly for a contract credit of $80,000. The SAPE software was given by IBM to the founding ex-IBM employees in exchange for founding stock provided to IBM, reportedly 8%. ICI was SAP's first ever customer in 1972.

The acronym was later changed to stand for Systeme, Anwendungen und Produkte in der Datenverarbeitung ("Systems, Applications and Products in Data Processing").

People and Time Management

Its all most a month and above. Lots of gyan was received by our minds. But what exactly can we learn from it. As most of our professors told us educating is to make students inform about the topics so that they can take learnings from it.
So we had all this different types of management subjects. But only thing common in all this is the Time and People Management qualities. No matter what subject you learn or what technicalities you earn end of the day, this are used only for some amount. Rest all is what we call managing as far as MBA is concerned.
Also in his book Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam "Wings of Fire" he tells management is nothing but managing people. So its how we manage people within that time constraint using all the learnings we get in life and in our own field that helps to become a successful manager.
The one step ahead is a LEADER. Will cover it later.

Satisfaction vs Complacency

Can you find a difference between Complacency and Satisfaction. Well as far as i am concerned there is a very thin line between them, but surely there is a difference.

Satisfaction is the one which is required for sure. You know each and everyone now a days say that satisfaction avoids tension and creates more of a fighting spirit. Hard to believe right? but its true. If you are not satisfied with what you do you will never move ahead. Once you are sure of what you do and are content with it you will never regret on it or look behind on it.

Hence Complacency is one step ahead of satisfaction. If a person is complacent then he will not think of future. He will be content with what he is and feel he has achieved everything or rather he do not need to achieve anything more. In that score he will vegetate. He will not wiling to change. And face great consequences

communication and quantitative skills

so these qualities struck me suddenly...... during my preparations for MBA i came to know that Communication and Quantitative skills are the most imporatant skills a person should have.

It not on helps in corporate world but also in our normal life.... As i have learned till date communication skills solve most of the problems.....this is because most of the problems ocurs due to misscommunication..... most problems can be choked out by talks as they say is very much true.

So start building these skills

education most important

So once again i and one of my friend started a discussion and ended with the concensus that the main problem of india is EDUCATION......the solution for each and every problem is education.

Imagine(a SAMSUNG tagline) when each and every indian is educated. Atleast we will not face a problem of indifference. People will not get fooled very often. Specifically from the western world.

Apart from, that today we had Production Management and MIS lecture. It was quite good. So the thing is Education is mot important.... lets see where we can take this thought too.

Video Description

Aravind started in 1976 as an 11-bed eye clinic in an old temple-city. Today it is the largest and most productive eye care facility in the world. Taking its compassionate services to the doorstep of rural India, Aravind's stunningly effective strategies vaulted barriers of distance, poverty and ignorance to create a self-sustaining system that now treats over 1.7 million patients each year, two-thirds of them, for free.
