Haaaaaaaaaaaa!!!! at last, i am back to my tech world. Thanks to lots and lots of people, but the most important my MBA course. Which gave me this orientation that tech is my life and which is rightly depicted in my Pseudonym CYBORG.
Always wanted to be techy, but engg curriculum made me to balance it with studies. Ok so what I topped the college, came 20 in university, no big deal. I am still the same. Had a tremendous interest in Coding, but some could not do it "The Nerd Way". No regrets and enough of cribbing.
Finally doing something about Open Source and one more inquisitive thing. But let me tell you it is the entrepreneurship club that helped me to know about something called as BAR CAMP.
Was also not able to do blogging. Missing it much. But somewhere related to blogging when i introduced the blogging culture in my MBA college. Started 4 blogs. 2 are working. here they are
1 - http://siescoms.wordpress.com - Life At SIESCOMS
2 - http://siescomsmedia.blogspot.com - SIESCOMS Interactive
3 - http://innovateindia.wordpress.com/ - IDEA REsearch at SIESCOMS
4 - http://ec100807.wordpress.com/ - Entrepreneurship Club at SIESCOMS
So here i am preparing for my first visit at the bar camp being conducted at KJSIEIT Mumbai on 8th March

Budget: a nervous wait for IT
The Indian IT and BPO industry is awaiting this budget with bated breath. It is anticipating an extension of the ten-year tax holiday that will end in 2009. The tax holiday assumes significant importance on the companies and the economy in general since software exports by Indian companies have grown 30 per cent on an average. According to companies, this growth rate could be derailed, which in turn would affect the employment scenario in India. Currently, the IT and BPO sectors employ 2 million professionals in the country and adds 5.5 per cent to the country's GDP, according to Nasscom.
Faced with a slowdown in the US economy, from which Indian companies get about 70 per cent of their revenues, companies feel that if the tax holiday is not extended this could wipe out some BPOs and IT companies.
"If this special benefit is extended beyond '09 it would further the expansion and development prospects of the BPO sector," says Som Mittal, president, Nasscom. The government however has opened SEZs all over India and feels that companies can move to these SEZs to avail of tax benefits. However, Nasscom feels that small and medium-sozed companies cannot be expected to move their operations to SEZs as that would involve more costs.
Also, a lot of BPOs now are moving to tier II and tier III towns to address high wage costs. However, there are no SEZs in these places.
He added that the government should treat BPO as a different industry, which is nascent and have been set up after the year 2000 and has not enjoyed tax benefits that IT companies have enjoyed. "The BPO industry in India is still a young industry and needs the support of the government till it reaches a phase of growth and maturity," said an Intelenet spokesperson.
Then there is the issue of competitive advantage that Indian companies enjoyed over other countries predominantly because of low costs. With China and other low cost destinations like Philippines and Vietnam offering cost advantages, employment would be affected.
Also, fringe benefit tax (FBT) which is a tax that companies have to pay for perks given by them to their employees such as health, life insurance, hotel stay and pensions is affecting the companies' bottomlines. "The introduction of FBT for ESOP is a retrograde step as we reward employees in knowledge industries, particularly in start-ups, and needs to be supported to ensure the growth of these industries by attracting talent," said Subhash Menon, MD, Subex Azure. Quatrro BPO head raman Roy says that the government is not ploughing back the 2 per cent education cess and companies have to bear the extra training expense due to lack of trained manpower.

How Do I Keep My Self Updated : My Subscriptions - 01
Well ppl wonder what all subscription I have, not much. But still to be updated all the time you need subscription. Basically there are two methods I use :
1 - iGoogle
2 - Mail Subscription
In this world of easy Information access you cannot go and say to someone that because I didn't have info I couldn't do the assignment. Rather being an excuse to save you, you make a fool of yourself. This is because somebody else have made a use of various READY TO USE resources to complete the work more intelligently.
You have to keep your self updated, by HOOK or KROOK. You read news paper, magazines, see new, here news, or read from internet its totally your choice. Speaking from my heart probably Internet is the best resource where you can get all the information you need, according to your customization, in a single roof/interface.
I will be covering this in detail in the next posts.

The Art of blogging
A blog is an abbreviated version of a weblog, a website where entries are written in chronological order and commonly displayed in reverse chronological order. Blogs function more like personal online diaries except they're available for others to read them through. Blog has emerged as a very portable social media. It acts as a meeting point for people with same ideologies, hobbies, attributes, characteristics who find a common subject to discuss online.
Blogs may also be used as a means of interaction by professionals and a platfom to share views and information. Many professionals in the IT industry have their own personal blogs, which they use to talk about IT-related issues and discuss new technologies. Blogs have in fact become an important medium of knowledge sharing. Their importance has increased to such an extent that nowadays it's not uncommon to see leading company's including a blog on their official site to facilitate user interaction.
A typical blog combines text, images, and links to other blogs, web pages, and other media related to its topic. Most blogs are primarily textual, although some focus on art, photographs, sketchblog, videos, music, audio (podcasting), etc., are also most commonly becoming a part of a wider network of social media.
But is it as simple as it looks -- an almost free, readily available medium of interchange of ideas, which with single touch point further connects you to a base of millions of other users of the same blog site.
The picture isn't that rosy as it may appear. A recent news report told how a person had been harassed by a number of callers with a malicious intent who gained access to his mobile number through one of the world's famous blogging site without his knowledge.
The incident brought home the fact that it's a "Truman Show" for bloggers, with no privacy for users. Blogging is a treat for hackers, if used in a hurry or unwisely may invite unnecessary troubles.
Few tips to bloggers to avoid hackers:
* If not in use, don't leave the website open.
* Be cautious while logging on other's blogs or visiting sites like YouTube -- they may be a source of virus infections or spywares that may automatically download on your computer and may result in loss of your prized assets -- like online banking and gaming treasures.
* If you receive a message from an unknown blogger in your blog, an in return, you do the same to his or her blog, you may be inviting hidden hackers.
* Careful while surfing unsolicited friendship websites.
* Don't share secrets with other internet users for, e.g., telling them you are a big fan of baseball star Wang JianMing, or even teach them how to trade shares online, etc.
* If not clear why there are pop-up windows, don't press "OK" to get rid of it.
The next generation of security protection solutions needs to pay more attention to the protection of the defense mechanism. Several dangerous moves mentioned earlier are real cases that attracted hidden hackers. Web 2.0 architecture provided by Trend Micro is gradually being used as a dynamic platform. Besides unplugging your Internet line, you can further prevent from being a victim of a hacker by understanding the credibility and reputation rating of Web technology.

About Web 2.0
About Web 2.0
The first person that proposed the Web 2.0 idea was Tim O'Reilly, the CEO of a computer books publisher-O'Reilly Media. "Web 2.0" is his idea of a conference title, referring to highly interactive social websites, called blogs, like Wretch, MySpace, Secondlife, YouTube, Flickr, del.icio.us, Wikipedia, Kiko, and CalendarHub. These sites are designed to enable strangers of the real world interact online. It allows many consumers to get used to the concept of socially collective cooperation, e.g., people sharing URL link, photos, video, and information in the Internet space.
However, there are many web users unaware of fraud possibilities, and they often engage in risky online behavior and activities. According to the National Cyber Security Alliance statistics, 57% of users who are aware of potential security risks are still disclosing important information to other Internet users. Therefore, these websites are easy targets to social engineering attacks.
There are many such websites that run a risk of triggering a series of malicious codes. These invasions of legitimate websites include tourism, automobile manufacturing, film and music, tax and employment services, and hotels' website. When any of these users enter these websites, their PCs will guide them to another malicious JavaScript IP address, and start a chain of Trojan horses (virus) downloads.
