the rickshawwala story

Ok guys i finally got time to complete this story.

There is nothing so special about this whole rickshawwala thing. I just thought to cover this story to highlight some of our day-to-day conversations with the rickshawwala. What all problems they have to face, and what all different circumstances they have to undergo. I am narrating one conversation which i feel needs attention.

Scene : I was going to Place X, as i was getting late i decided to catch a rickshaw. It was around 8:00 pm, I asked a richshawwala for the place X and he was ready to go. So now we were moving on the way, and suddenly i saw a tremendous long queue of this rickshawwala. I was shocked by the queue as it was very very long. Then as we moved further i noticed it was for a CNG gas filling station. I dont know how, but i just said to the driver "yeah itna bada line to pehli baar dekha hai maine". Unfortunately his rickshaw was CNG too and then the story started. I will name the rickshawwala Mr. Chandu

Chandu told me that this is not the 1st time, everytime they have to stand in such long tedious queues to fill gas. Now for those of them who do not know CNG works in same way for CNG rickshaw as petrol works for petrol rickshaw. Chandu told me in anger that as the filling station were very limited there is no option but to stand in this queues to source gas.

Now comes the worst part. As they cannot afford to stand in this queues during day time, as this duration is for their earning, they opt to get in the queue during night hours. Incidentally chandu was out of gas and I was his last passenger for the day. Chandu told in disgust that, now he will directly go home, have his dinner and then come back to the filling station to stand in the queue. You people will not believe of what he told next.

Chandu told me that it will take him the whole night in queue and probably his turn will come at say 7 O' clock in the morning. So i asked him excitedly, how will he complete is sleep during this event :)). He told that there is no way that he can complete his sleep. Because every five minutes he have to move his rickshaw forward in the queue. So by this time he can sleep in the rickshaw for a 5-5 minutes slot. And again when the day starts he has to run for his ROZI ROTI

He was very angry as in, from the time the municipality has compelled this people to convert rickshaws to CNG, their sleep is ruined. So the life of these people is not as simple as it looks from outside.

You people might have gone through such situation, feel free to share and comment on this article.
